An Ecological Paradise: we are officially running exclusively on solar power!  Our system is installed with Tesla batteries and the set up is working great.

Get away from it all at our private hillside retreat on the island of Vieques off the coast of Puerto Rico. Enjoy enchanting, unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea, eco-friendly simplicity, and island-style outdoor lounging.

It’s all here:  the perfect blend of hospitality, independence & nature therapy.

Your own personal oasis...

Oreanda offers exemplary privacy, vistas, and tranquility.   Awake to gentle rain and morning stillness.   Enjoy an afternoon book in the hammock under shady quenepo trees while the breeze of the tradewinds cools you.  Watch the sunset while sipping cocktails on a chaise lounge at the pool.   At night, let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep under a sky of a million stars.

An adventure awaits...

Oreanda offers its guests complementary beach gear - beach chairs, beach bags, and coolers.  Oreanda is a unique property on Vieques that has private access to an incredible "arroyo" jungle hike to Black Sand Beach.  We can recommend snorkeling, stand up paddleboard tours, bike tours, rifle ranges, and guided hikes including sugar mill ruins.  We can also help plan your Bio Bay adventure, horseback riding, and SCUBA on Vieques.

A wild island made easy...

We can provide "insider" travel guidance to Vieques that may save you time and money.   Our property manager acts as your personal guide to the best the island has to offer.  We provide all of our guests complementary meetup at your rental car location upon arrival.   Guests at Oreanda may utilize kitchenware for cooking as well as our outdoor gas grill and sink.   We can also connect you with fantastic catering options (including paella parties at the beach), on-site massage therapists, and help with any other requests you may have.

Recent guests have been raving about Oreanda!

Everything about Oreanda was fantastic from the beginning to the end. Our group of 8 rented the entire property for four days, while in Vieques for a wedding. Stephanie was communicative throughout the booking process leading up to our arrival, and Tyler picked up from there; picking us up from the airport, bringing a few beers and loaves of banana bread to get us started, and was available whenever we needed him. The home and view is gorgeous. Our group cooked one night, and the kitchen was fully stocked. Other groups stayed closer to Esperanza, and while their homes were nice as well, there is something to be said for Oreanda’s location in the hills. The property has a hiking trail that leads to the black beach as well as snorkeling equipment and beach chairs. Thank you to Tyler and Stephanie for making our stay so special!

If you want to disconnect, listen to the birds, horses, etc. instead of being locked inside of an air conditioned vault all day...if you want to walk out onto the pool deck at night and get totally blown away by the forest and the stars....if you want to get way better island info than you would get at the concierge desk from Tyler...if you want to go somewhere that is so great you start looking at buying land and adopting a dog you found in the airport parking lot...if you want to spend every day making decisions like should I go on an adventure or just sit by the pool, knowing that is really doesn’t matter because both options are fantastic...if you want these things you should stay at Oreanda because it is pretty much the best place in the world.

This is an absolutely great place to stay. We had a wonderful time during our short stay here. It is conveniently located close to several restaurants, but secluded enough to provide privacy. The property is fairly central on the island, making it a great base for exploring. You truly feel like you are in the forest when you look out from the property. The home itself is nice and provided the get away we were looking for. There were a few spiders in the house, but that’s understandable given where you are staying. Tyler is a great host and gladly picked us up from the port. He also helped us book a bio bay tour and gave us some tips for exploring the island.

Simply put, Oreanda is as close to paradise as I’ve found. The place is just as beautiful as the pics suggest if not more. Stephanie was very responsive to all questions asked and booking was a breeze. Tyler, the onsite host, was also most accommodating - from picking us up that airport to taking us to pick up our jeep rental in addition to providing a wealth of useful information that made our trip all the easier. Can’t wait to return!

Despite an hours-long flight delay in getting to the island - one which meant I could not pick up my rental car that night- Tyler not only picked me up at the airport, he made sure I got to a small market to pick up some items, then took me to the car rental agency the next morning. The casita was lovely. This is not my first visit to Vieques and housing is not always as advertised- but Oreanda was exactly right. Fresh flowers on the table, fresh coffee beans, soda, water and Medalla beer in the fridge; beach chairs and a cooler were on hand, too. The pool, the morning view from the porch- would definitely come back.

We absolutely loved staying at Casa Oreanda! So much, in fact, that we decided to stay longer than expected. The casita was clean, secluded in a beautiful setting, and stocked with plenty of towels, pillows, coffee, etc. There were even some beach chairs and snorkel gear available for us to use. Wonderful hosts! We can’t wait to come back to Vieques. Thanks, Stephanie!!

Stephanie and Tyler were excellent hosts. During our stay we interacted with Tyler who went above and beyond what I would expect from a host- picking us up from the airport, giving us a great lay of the land and even lending us his car until we were able to pick up our rental. The casita and property are amazing and we really appreciated the location. I would highly recommend staying here if you are travelling to Vieques and compared to other places we considered for our trip was an excellent value.
